That said, it will have to wait, because in my case even $2.00 USD (not sure of exchange rate, maybe $3.50 give or take) is too rich for my pockets right now.

I'm in a similar position. Been my sole support since the age of 18, and with all the woke-mind-virus bullshit, I'm now having to deal with a publisher who dropped me after 35 years of freelancing for them (which I did even while I was on a full-time staff elsewhere) because I liked a they had me work on. The rank-and-file staff had not wanted to see said book published, and so for praising it, I was ghosted. They were my best clients, as the projects were large and paid pretty well, and in only 21 days after completion of the work. (That's actually good for the publishing industry!) And they punished me just when I had moved from a shithole shack in NM to very expensive FL. Had to go on food stamps for the first time in my almost 70-year-old life. Anyway, the book was written by a left-wing professor but was very well documented and truer than true (about "fossil" fuels), and the nutjobs still disapproved of it. Anyway, freebies here aren't fair to my few paid subscribers. I hope for great good fortune for both of us--soon!
